Fitter, healthier, happier…

I started ZEN Bootcamps 9 months ago and absolutely love the sessions. Each session includes a great variety of exercises mixing cardio, weights, core strength etc. I always feel great after an hour outside in the fresh air no matter what sort of day I’ve had!

Alan and his team of trainers are great – they make their sessions fun, varied and are really good at keeping everyone motivated. I’ve met some great people through the sessions, have lost 9 kilos, lost over 7% body fat, and over 12 inches off my body measurements. My body shape has completely changed. I feel fitter, healthier and happier.

The Bootcamp sessions are aimed at all abilities and there are new people joining all the time – I can’t recommend it highly enough so come along and join the fun!

Healthier and happier…

The workouts are intense but a lot of fun at the same time. In one workout ZEN got us to clamber [through] and then jump over sets of hurdles laid out.

I’m also doing more varieties of weigh training & lost 12kg in 3 months, losing 9 inches around the body, dropping over 7% in body fat and now at a healthier and happy weight all thanks to Alan.

I wanted to get fitter and learn new workouts in my gym. I approached Alan, as my fitness coach and he put me on a program & advised me on nutrition. I started to run more regularly on this program and have found my fitness levels have greatly increased, especially since starting bootcamp training regularly on a Saturday morning. I also completed my first ever race at 10k and under the guidance of Alan was able to complete it in 48:53…

From size 14 to 10…

After 2 kids and 2 c-sections I thought my body was pretty much shot. I was 2 stone overweight and counted running for a bus my daily exercise! I made every excuse under the sun that I would never regain the strength,tone and fitness I’d had prior to having my 2 kids.

I found Zen Bootcamp’s ’28 day Challenge’ via a feed on Facebook and it automatically caught my attention. The programme appealed to me because it had a strong emphasis on strength and conditioning whilst also giving the all important nutritional support. I met up with Alan who explained the programme in more detail and encouraged me to set goals to help motivate me during The Challenge!

I attended 3-4 bootcamps per week for 28 days and the results were very impressive. I lost 3.1kgs / 7 lbs, dropped 6 inches in total off my body and lost 3% body fat in 28 days. I felt so amazing I have kept up with bootcamps x2/week. After another month I’d lost another 2 kgs and another 4 inches off my body.

To put things in perspective I am now down from size 14 to 10 and have energy to burn. I am also doing my first ever triathalon in 2 months time! There is no way I would have even contemplated attempting a triathalon without Zen Bootcamps. It has changed my life…

Great start to day…

A great start to the day. Alan is a positive and encouraging trainer who starts with a gentle warm up and builds up the intensity of the exercise. A good mix of cardio, circuits, core and resistance exercises to strengthen and tone every part of your body; every session is different which makes them interesting and enjoyable.

I have only just started and am really pleased with how quickly my fitness, strength and muscle tone are improving. I also feel energised and ready for the day afterwards; ZEN bootcamps are well worth the early start…

Energizing and fun…

The bootcamps Alan provides are highly energizing, fun and a great way to train with others in an outdoor environment.

They provide a full body workout with many exercises I wouldn’t normally do and leave you with a few aches the next day!

I was able to succeed…

I enrolled myself on the Zen Active 28 Days Challenge in September 2015. By the end of the 4 weeks I had dropped 7.5 inches around my body, lost 1/2 a stone in weight and also lost body fat which was great.

It wasn’t easy to change some habits at the beginning and I felt like give up several times, however with the trainers motivation, consistency, and a ‘feel good’ sensation I was able to succeed and what’s most important get fitter and healthier.

Best shape in 7 years…

I had been an occasional, often half-hearted gym-goer for a few years but knew I wasn’t pushing myself anywhere near enough.

Best decision I ever made…

I decided to do the 28 days challenge with the only goal being to lose weight and I not only achieved that goal with 21lb weight loss,dropping 12 inches off my body and two dress sizes, but got so much more out of it. Reaped the benefits…

Having been a member at another fitness club for many years, I had always been hesitant about having one to one sessions with a personal trainer. I was playing football at a decent amateur level and had treated the gym as a bit of a sideshow.

This changed a few years ago when I started to suffer chronic hamstring problems. I decided that I needed help from a professional who could provide me with the tools I needed to get properly fit and give me the confidence to start playing football again.

I started my fitness sessions with Alan with the aim of improving my range of motion and strengthening my body. Alan was really patient with me as I gradually worked through the program – which was diverse and the routines were challenging.

Exceeded my target weight…

Already a reasonably fit and regular cyclist, in 2014 I planned to ride the amateur version of the historic Liège-Bastogne-Liège bike race (considered the toughest one-day pro bike race @ 279km/173 miles with over 4400m of vertical ascent).

I worked with Alan on an event-specific programme to focus on work to help my climbing, lose a little weight and strengthen my core. Alan did some assessments and put together a goal-focused plan which worked me really hard over a period of weeks.

I exceeded my target weight by 2 kilos and the combination of weight loss and focused-glute/hamstring work really paid off – I could feel the difference. Riding time was a tough, but enjoyable 10 hours 15 mins!

Helped me start again…

An accident where I broke my leg and left me disabled for a number of years left me struggling for almost a decade to get any real level of fitness back. Alan helped me regain core strength and after not running for many years helped me start again.

4 kilos in 9 days…

Before my return to Australia I joined ‘The Gym’ in Kingston where Alan introduced himself to me. When I explained my fitness goals to him, we made an appointment and I spent the next 6 weeks following his tailored program. Not only was that in itself brilliant, and perfect in order to achieve my goals but he also presented to me a fantastic detox 9 day plan.
